These terms cover how your data is handled when you use this website and any related services that are used as part of this website and its features.
Your data
WHAT WE COLLECT
If you choose to send us a message via the form on our ‘Contact Us’ page, you’ll have to enter your name, email address, phone number along with your message. As part of your submission, basic information about the computer you are using to submit your message will also be collected. For instance, we collect the IP address, the user agent and referring URL where the message is being sent from.
If you choose to send us a message via the floating WhatsApp button, you’ll have to send us a message from your WhatsApp account linked to your phone number.
If you sign up for our newsletter via the dedicated ‘Newsletter’ page, you’ll have to enter your name and email. Optionally, you can enter your phone number as well.
In all cases, the act of submitting the web form, or contacting us on WhatsApp is your consent for us to collect your information, and that the information you’ve provided is accurate.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
If you choose to send us a message via the form on our ‘Contact Us’ page, your information (excluding technical information) is recorded in an internal database. We may also duplicate your information to tools that we use to manage customer relationship management and newsletter marketing. Your entire submission may also be recorded in our instance of WordPress, which we use to host this website, as a log of everyone who has submitted a message using that particular form.
If you choose to send us a message via the floating WhatsApp button, WhatsApp may need to obtain certain information about you in order to direct you to the right place to leave us a message. WhatsApp may have their own data handling policies that they adhere to in order to provide the service they do.
If you sign up for our newsletter via the dedicated ‘Newsletter’ page, your information is recorded in an internal database that we manage using MailerLite – a tool we use to manage and send newsletters. Your information will be utilised in MailerLite just to facilitate the management and sending of newsletters. MailerLite may have their own data handling policies that they adhere to in order to provide the service they do.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
We will retain your data perpetually, until the closure of our business or when you indicate that you would like to you have your personal data completely removed from our database. In these cases, we will erase any personal data we have related to you from all databases in a timely manner.
WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA
To update your particulars, simply drop us a message with your new contact information and we will update our databases accordingly.
If you would like to have your personal data completely removed from our databases, you’ll have to provide accurate information about yourself in order for us to identify the data we may have that is related to you. Such requests can be made to it@thebrainerycode.com.
WHERE YOUR DATA IS SENT
Your data will only be used internally in the cases we’ve outlined on this page – for utility and marketing purposes. It will exist in databases where access is limited to those who require access to it to perform their official duties.
In the case of a data breach, we will comply with the Cybersecurity Act 2018 and Personal Data Protection (Notification of Data Breaches) 2021 in Singapore and inform all victims as soon as possible so that they may take the necessary actions to protect their data. Where necessary, we will also report any breaches to the Personal Data Protection Commission within the time frames set out in the aforementioned legislation.
Cookies
We may use cookies to keep track of what you have looked at and how long you’ve spent looking at what you’ve been looking at. We may also use cookies as part of our analytics. Third party services and applications may also use cookies to provide the service that they do. Other than that, we do not utilise any cookies to track you outside of this website.
Other terms and conditions
When you purchase a product or service from us, you will have to agree to a separate set of terms and conditions that will be made available to you during the sign up process. Those terms and conditions may include extra terms that cover areas that are not covered on this page, but are relevant to the product or service you are purchasing. Your consent to these terms do not automatically determine your consent to other terms we may present you with.
Information that you may have already provided to us may be used in that process for convenience’s sake. For instance, it may save you from needing to re-enter or re-submit your information.
