“It had been a fun and memorable experience with the Brainery Code during my primary school years as I looked forward to class every Sunday. It was not just enriching, but also inspiring as the teachers often advised us good moral values in addition to the tech curriculum.“
Gavin Lau
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
I joined The Brainery Code more than 5 years ago as my parents were looking for an enrichment class for me that I would enjoy. Since I was young, I had always loved STEM toys and kits, especially those that involved coding or building.
Thanks to the expert guidance from the teachers of The Brainery Code, I have further elevated my interest in Robotics.
Last year in 2022, I participated in RoboCup Singapore and APAC – doing well and winning Champion and First prize (presentation) respectively in these two competitions.
I also managed to enter the School of Science and Technology through DSA, and have been allocated my first choice of CCA, which is the prestigious Robotics@APEX club.
It had been a fun and memorable experience with the Brainery Code during my primary school years as I looked forward to class every Sunday. It was not just enriching, but also inspiring as the teachers often advised us good moral values in addition to the tech curriculum. I am grateful for this experience and trust that The Brainery Code will continuously nurture more passionate students.

“It began for Kum Chin as just a curiosity about robotics. Kum Chin isn’t the outspoken, stand-out-in-the-crowd sort. But Jim and his coaches saw beyond that. Thank you for giving Kum Chin this chance, guiding him through, and letting him know that you believe in him.”

It began for Kum Chin as just a curiosity about robotics. Kum Chin isn’t the outspoken, stand-out-in-the-crowd sort. But Jim and his coaches saw beyond that. He was selected to participate in the NJRC (National Junior Robotics Competition). It was a tough decision for us to make, given it was his PSLE year. However, we hoped this learning journey could help build his self-esteem and self-worth, beyond what is often defined by academic achievements.
From the training to the competition sessions, Jim and his team affirmed Kum Chin’s efforts and his person. Though his team did not win, Kum Chin emerged from the finals of NJRC, having a quiet sense of pride and accomplishment that he managed some of the “crisis” situations well when the bot malfunctioned. Also, instead of giving up when the bot failed at the critical juncture, he chose to try to find out what went wrong afterwards. For him, learning and perseverance took precedence.
These were valuable learning moments. Thank you for giving Kum Chin this chance, guiding him through, and letting him know that you believe in him.
“The teachers at The Brainery Code™ are highly patient and interact actively with the students during the lessons. They go the extra mile in providing individual attention to the children so as to cater to their specific learning requirements.”

“In comparison, I can see that the educational concept and training skills of The Brainery Code’s team has nourished my son from every aspect. I heartily recommend The Brainery Code™ to be your kids’ one-stop Robotics interest school, especially for those who are genius and over energetic while not quite obedient.”
Mother of Zijian
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
My son Zijian joined The Brainery Code’s Robo Coder™ Senior class 1 year ago (in 2016). It was such a surprise when I heard that Zijian’s team won 2nd place at the National Robotics Competition 2017. When I sent my son to The Brainery Code™, my hoped was that he could interact with other kids and have fun. The award is really a great encouragement to my son and to my family as well.
In comparison, I can see that the educational concept and training skills of The Brainery Code’s team has nourished my son from every aspect. When my son was kicked out by an English tuition centre in July 2017 and I receive complaints from his teachers almost every week due to his weird behaviours in class, The Brainery Code’s instructors, namely Michael and Andy, have been complimenting my son for his unique logic and fast response as well as teaching my son about good behaviour and respect for others. Plus, the class has been my son’s favourite.
I heartily recommend The Brainery Code™ to be your kids’ one-stop Robotics interest school, especially for those who are genius and over energetic while not quite obedient.

“Lucas is always proud to show me his creation and it’s programmed movements after every lesson. The teacher, Andy, is always there to discuss or update on Lucas’ progress. The teachers are knowledgeable and patient, Lucas is able to acquire skills that he requires to bring his robotics understanding to a higher level.“
Mother of Lucas
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
Fortuitously, Lucas joined The Brainery Code™ during the June 2014 holiday program. The intention was to expose him to robotics programming which is not in his school curriculum. After the first few lessons, he requested to continue with their regular weekend classes in order to pursue his newly found interest. Lucas is always proud to show me his creation and it’s programmed movements after every lesson. The teacher, Andy, is always there to discuss or update on Lucas’ progress.
Lucas was exhilarated when he was asked to be part of a team, to participate in the annual nationwide robotics competition. Jim and his team arranged for intensive lessons to prepare the team for the competition. The team’s collaboration and efforts won themselves two medals at the 2014 NJRC.
Thereafter, the team went on to represent Singapore at the 2014 World Robot Olympiad held in Sochi, Russia. Lucas enjoyed the team company and had good competition experience. This was Lucas’ maiden trip, and he was well taken care of by Jim and Andy. I really appreciate Jim and Andy for updating me with the team’s progresses, putting my mind at ease.
The teachers are knowledgeable and patient, Lucas is able to acquire skills that he requires to bring his robotics understanding to a higher level.

“Interestingly, outside of robotics, I found he was able to follow building instructions and manuals for his toys quite easily, and once or twice he has told me the correct way to assemble pieces whenever I was stumped! It has certainly improved his visio-spatial skills! I want to say a big thank you to all the instructors at the centre, who has been wonderfully patient all along.“
Mother of Marcus
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
From the word go, Marcus has been enthusiastic and excited whenever it was time for class. He has learned about elementary robotics suitable for his age and suddenly, I find that our conversations would include topics like the different types of sensors and gears! Because students had to follow step by step instructions on how to build their robotics, it also enhances his concentration ability and attentiveness. Often I would pick him after class to be amazed by the models he could build, amazed because he had just turned 4 at that time and could hardly sit still to accomplish his task.
Interestingly, outside of robotics, I found he was able to follow building instructions and manuals for his toys quite easily, and once or twice he has told me the correct way to assemble pieces whenever I was stumped! It has certainly improved his visio-spatial skills!
I want to say a big thank you to all the instructors at the centre, who has been wonderfully patient all along. I must say, it’s a nice start to a day to see friendly faces every time we come to the centre!

“True enough, the instructors here taught and coach him very well. They always motivate him to think of solutions for problem solving. Jing Ming enjoys himself very much and always looks forward for the next lesson.“
Jocelyn, Mother of Jing Ming
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
Jing Ming has been very creative and likes to build impressive things with Lego blocks, wooden blocks, plastic gears, etc. since 5 years old. I always wanted to find a way to further develop his talent in this aspect.
4 years ago, when I was shopping at Jurong East, I passed by The Brainery Code™. I saw nice robotics model displays, and also poster on their team of students whom represented Singapore at World Robot Olympiad 2014 (WRO) held in Russia. It inspired me and I strongly believed that this would be the right place for Jing Ming! True enough, the instructors here taught and coach him very well. They always motivate him to think of solutions for problem solving. Jing Ming enjoys himself very much and always looks forward for the next lesson.
During the past 4 years, together with his peers, Jing Ming has won first place in Robocup Singapore 2017 & 2018, and also represented Singapore at RoboCup Asia Pacific 2018 held in Kish Island, Iran. He has also made many good friends here. Many thanks to Jim, Michael, Andy and all other instructors. Keep it up!

“Mentored by experienced instructors, the instructors encouraged Solomon to do his best, overcoming challenges, and thinking outside the box. I would like to thank Brainery for providing Solomon with a conducive learning environment, both in the lab and real competition exposures.”
Parent of Solomon Lim
Robo Coder™ Sr. Student
Solomon’s keen interest in tinkering with LEGO blocks prompted us to expose him to the field of robotics. We were at IMM one weekend where Jim and Michael were doing a roadshow on their robotics programme. Solomon found the programme interesting and so we decided to sign him up on a trial. The successful trial then turned into a full fledged programme and Solomon’s innovation and makers journey soon began.
Innovation is a learning journey of ups and downs, trials and errors, and importantly resilience and open mindedness. Mentored by experienced instructors (thank you so much Jim, Michael, Andy, Jarrel, Jian Xing and many more), the instructors encouraged Solomon to do his best, overcoming challenges, and thinking outside the box.
Their trust in Solomon allowed him to participate in the National Junior Robotics Competition (NJRC) when Solomon was Primary 2, giving Solomon great experience and exposure to real competition environment. I congratulated the team in winning the best strategy award! This spurs greater aspiration to hone the robotics skillset for Solomon, both in the areas of cognitive (programming) and engineering (building suitable robots). This led to further exposure and experience in NJRC and Robocup competitions, and the victories in winning NJRC in 2015 and Robocup Junior in 2018 are testament of the great mentorship by The Brainery Code. I should also mention that when teams did not manage to win the competition, Michael would turn to be the “Super Coach”, encouraging the teams to learn from the mistakes and cheered them on. That’s the spirit of coaching and I endorsed such an approach to learning.
I would like to thank Brainery for providing Solomon with a conducive learning environment, both in the lab and real competition exposures. The trainings and coaching provided will stay with Solomon and help him further in his lifetime learning journey. Thank you all Instructors in
The Brainery Code, and to the founders both Jim and Michael, you have led in your own way to groom future learners. Congratulations!

“The staff at The Brainery Code™ has put together a great course for the kids to be occupied. People usually say it is more for boys, but I have got two girls and they both do the coding class with you and both are enjoying it. Thanks a lot!”
Mother of Lena & Leonie Li

My youngest daughter, Leonie, really enjoyed herself. She picked up the program fast and the teacher was very patient with her.
The staff at The Brainery Code™ has put together a great course for the kids to be occupied. I think she is learning some things and is also taken off the parent’s hands so that is very good for us. Most importantly, I think it was very enjoyable for her to code.
People usually say it is more for boys, but I have got two girls and they both do the coding class with you and both are enjoying it. Thanks a lot! Stay healthy, stay safe. That is the main thing now.
